
Dr Nick Barrett - from the BBC TV flagship programme “Who Do You Think You Are” joins The Quest

Nick obtained a PhD in history from King's College London and later joined the National Archives: Public Record Office at Kew as a reader adviser.
Nick started work in television whilst working at the BBC as a specialist archive researcher for a number of programmes. His valuable links to the largest archival institutions in the country and expertise helped lay the foundation of the network he has in place today.

Looking To The Past In Hope of Finding A Second Cave
A film crew producing a documentary series n the progress of the Knights Templar across Europe, took a series of scans near the cave in Melbourn Street on Sunday.

ROYSTON Archaeologist Sylvia Beamon hopes work carried out for a new television documentary will prove the existence of a second cave Royston Cave.

Mrs Beamon said: “They used ground penetrating radar equipment, and an instrument called Magnatometer, to do several scans, and the results showed that there are two cavaties next to the cave

“It appears there is an unaccounted chamber some 50 yards from the cave close to the new pedestrian crossing, almost in the centre of the road. It is anticipated to be 11 feet in diameter and 18 feet deep. Permission has been obtained from the local council to use a drill and boroscope to locate the cavity”.

ROYSTON Cave may have a twin less than 100 feet away.
A film crew visiting the cave Sunday (17) took ground radar scans to establish if a second cave exists. The Classic Media Group is filming a 12 - part documentary following the progress of the Knights Templar across Europe and one of their first stops was Royston.
